I drained my coolent today and changed it but the old stuff looked a little rusty. it is not oil bc there is no coolent in my oil. The car does not smoke at all and does not burn oil. One of the mechanics I talked to said to change the thermostat and I did today and flushed the system. The thermostat was original I think. Should I worry about this at all what do you guys think?

There is almost always a little bit of discoloration to the coolant. If you flushed it and put new in, you probably don't have too much to worry about.

I flush my system every year. It looks like *rusty* fluid. Maybe the Dexcool makes it look that way. I have come to terms with it and accept it as a norm.

Mine also looked somewhat rusty when I had the coolant flushed earlier this summer. I was told it was the radiator slowly rusting out. Doesn't seem like too big of a deal though.
