Coolant Crossmember Problem

I don't know if anyone here has has this problem. The coolant crossmember on my car, is leaking with one of the bolts in the back. I spent the money and got brand new washers (the ones with the rubber sealent inside) and new bolts. Goes in great, and i pressure aired it, no leaks. When i poured my coolant in, without pressure and the car off, it began leaking. Has anyone had this problem?

Re: Coolant Crossmember Problem

Ive not had this problem.

But maybe its leaking from somewhere other than the bolt/washer. Could the tube be leaking near the fitting?

I had the tube off. No holes, not even pinholes.

Re: Coolant Crossmember Problem

If you did not clean the surfaces of the head and coolant crossover, you might have leaks.

Re: Coolant Crossmember Problem

The solution to this problem is... You don't need this cross over pipe. It will make your car run about 5 degrees hotter (towards the throttle body) but no harm will be done. Anyone know why my rockers keep falling off and bending my push rods?

It relieves potential hot spots in the heads from the reverse flow coolant system.

Since you don't seem to think you need it, just leave it off. I would not recommend it, though.
