You can use checking springs and put the retainer and locks back on......you can push the checking springs down by hand, I like to use them

It's going on a dyno here locally shortly after I get it back together. Just waiting on the TF guideplates to get here from summit....

And yes I'm really shifting it at 7K, last season at the track it would drop 1-2 mph if I shifted at anything less.

I actually thought of that first, but I let someone borrow my cam degree kit (which is where I store my checking springs) so I didn't have them handy. Thats why I was thinking of an alternate way. I figure everyone's got some zip ties in their garage...not everyone has a pair of checking springs though

The problem is if you turn the engine over and the valve is not all the way up it may bend it......so just be careful.
