converting '94 opti to a '95

Other than a vented opti, what else is involved in switching one over? I'm buying an engine out of a 94 and gonna put it in my 95. Also will it be as easy as remove and replace or do need to do before I install the other engine?

Re: converting '94 opti to a '95

Thanks shoebox. I take it I can't just drop the engine in and plug up the 94 opti with my 95 harness if I wanted too. And sense I have a new 94 opti I could take it back to auto zone and get a new 95 one and have a new one. I can use what's needed off my 95 engine though, correct?

Just get an MSD cap and rotor kit, it adds a vent line.

If you still have your '95 motor, you need the '95 timing cover(new gasket and seals)

You will also need your '95 timing set, or a new one if yours is worn out.

You need your '95 cam(it has a longer dowel pin to drive the vented opti.) The '94 is spline driven

That is all I remember changing on mine when I went from a '94-'95 opti
