Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this phenomenon. I was arguing with someone who claims that converters only lock up in overdrive at part throttle but never at wot. I know mine definitely locks up at wot in third because you can hear the rpms drop off a little when it locks around 5200 rpms. I just recently installed a 700r4 tranny to eliminate the 4l60e/odb1 problem, but the converter doesn't lock in 3rd anymore costing me a couple mph. Have you guys noticed your converters locking at wot?

 

Mine doesnt lock up at the track at all.I would like to fiqure out how to wire up a manual lockup switch.

 

I can't understand why no one else has noticed this. I've watched plenty lt1s and 3rd gens for that matter, and you can definitely hear when they lock up.
