computer tuning
I've had a 95 z28 for about three years now. When I bought it it had 53k on it it now has 97k. Had never been happy with how the car runs untill the other day.
The car had a lot of vacuum leaks and the intake oil leak when I got it, but no matter what I did or fixed, it idled rough and didn't perform well.
Well, the other day I finally removed the only remaining aftermarket add on the car had except for the muffler and now the car runs smoothe and strong. That aftermarket part was a K&N air filter.
If some of you guys and girls are having drivability problems and have aftermarket performance parts, but haven't tuned your computer for them this might be your problem.
I wouldn't think that just an air filter could make a difference, but I know it did with my car. The filter was cleaned and oiled properly and the maf was clean. I had the filter box and intake tube off many times so I know it wasn't the fittings or electrical connections.
Hope this helps some of you.

I have never heard of a car needing to be tuned just for an air filter. Are you sure when you took the air assembly off there was not something caught on the honey comb mass air flow screen ? If you had that removed, I have heard of things getting by the filter and ending up in the TB. Kinna strange if you ask me.
I hope you put some sort of filter in there
And if you went from CAI to Stock airbox, are you sure everything was fitted properly?
EDIT: I guess I should read to the end of the post
