computer chips for the lt1

i was looking at these 2.. since its stage 1 & 2 would i have to install both of them or could i go straight to a level 2 w/out any other modifications... the only thing on my lt1 for my camaro that isnt stock is the CAI... would this be safe to install and still pass emissions... on summit i selected the 50 state section for emissions

i've also heard these can help u get better gas mileage as well, is this true?

was also thinking about using some lighter pullys on it as well... just asking for someone else' 2 cents

Re: computer chips for the lt1

No one here uses that silly crap. We either tune our cars, have it done on a dyno, or some get a mail order tune. Some guys use the pulleys, but all you can do with those is slow down the alternator and maybe the steerign pump, so if you do that be careful of it not charging as well at idle and slow speeds.

If you read this forum for a while and do some research via searches, you will get a lot of insight of what to do and not do to get some more power. It has all been done before on cars this old, and people here have a lot of knowledge of what does and doesn't work.

This is where i got mine done. some people prefer a dyno tune but i think these guys will be more than adequate for you.

The butt dyno probably won't read a power increase from just a tune by the way.
