Composite LT4 Valve Covers do not fit Trick Flow Heads

I had an oil leak and couldn't figure out where it came from... I got the car in the air today and looked under. You can see the valve covers overhanging beyond the lip of the Trick Flow heads. Hi Temp RTV was used to hold the neoprene gasket in place within the groove in the valve covers.

How is anyone else working these covers on the Trick Flow Heads for the LT1? Any mods?

I removed the gasket and applied RTV to the cover to see if I could get a decent seal on the lip... turns out that the oil deflector inside interferes with bottom edge of the valve cover. So the leak is still there.

The guys at TFS didn't seem to drill the holes for the cover studs at the proper angle. Both covers over hang about 1/4".

I wonder if this affected the sealed emissions of the engine since it was open to air on both banks. Perhaps the rough idle concern.

1) What has anyone done to mod the LT4 composite covers to TFS heads?
2) Would the lack of a sealed system affect idle?

Good ones!

I can't imagine that Trick Flow altered the heads, but it seems so. Other than grinding the oil drip guard, is there any other mod? (From website search) I don't see how grinding would help when the gasket is clearly over the side of the head.
