Complete Valvletrain Rebuild

Okay guys here's my plans, tell me what you think and how much rwhp i will have after this. Im starting with a completely stock 96 SS with 67K miles

-LT4 Hot Cam kit (cam, springs, retainers, lt4 timing, lt4 water shaft assembly)
-New push rods, and lifters
-Crane roller rockers
-Jet hot long tubes
-MAF sensor

I was wondering how i upgrade the computer to tell it the new cam is in. Is this what puting a 'chip' in a car is??

Thanks,
Greg

Bryan will program a computer based on what you tell him you have done to the car. His programs are the lowest price and far better than any other mail order program.

well the kit comes with GM(crane) rockers anyway so you can take that off your list.

what do you need a MAF sensor for...is the old one broke or something?

the LT4 hotcam isnt a very radical cam and i believe most descriptions even state you dont need computer tuning with the cam but its a good idea. and if you are getting LTs then you will need a reprogram anyway or youll have SES from taking off your AIR and EGR systems and the lack of cats. also our cars have reprogrammable PCMs which means we dont need chips. you can adjust every engine parameter with the help of a tuner which allows you to go in and manipulate the files to match your cam. then with the tuner, interfacing cable and laptop... you do what is called a flash or reflash to put the new file into your PCM. its really quite simple and less of a hassle than a chip.
