Re: complete Pacesetter LT system

ok

thanks for the answer. I don't have the Y pipe because i didn't made choice between Y or X pipe. From what i've seen under the car, i think i will go with the Y to have same ground clearance (i don't beleive it can be possible with an X pipe). I will see then between hooker or flowmaster system.

Also, my LT are coated race ones. I already delete cats (without any SES) and AIR (no SES either). do i need o2 simulator with the pacestter Y pipe ? and can i block EGR without any SES ?

Re: complete Pacesetter LT system

After you do the LT's you will want to get a tune. I opted for a OBD I conversion from Madwolf. Since it was an OBD I it didn't have rear O2's so there was no need for sims.

If you want to stay with a OBD II computer then just have the rear O2's deleted out and he can also delete the codes for no AIR and EGR.

If you really want to see the full potential of the LT's and catback get a tune.

I had to bash the **** out of my Y-pipe to clear the floorboard...and it never lined up properly, so in turn, it never sealed.

Re: complete Pacesetter LT system

But they look like **** with side pipes. 4th Gen F-Bodies NEED two pipes out the back. And it wold be kind of difficult to fab up a dual over the axle without a pipe bender and stuff.

Thats not to say I wouldnt do it, just that it could have the potential to be a headache, and more money than its worth. You could throw a cutout on and get the flow, for a fraction of the price.

Open long tubes sounded sweet before I hooked the rest of my exhaust up

So I would assume an cutout would sound good at the end of the Y ???

ok

so i start to really beleive i will have a PCM tune when i will install the LT , delete EGR, AIR, rear o2 .... but ... I also plan to buy a cam in the year and getting a tune seems not so easy from where I live. Maybe better to wait for the cam for a custom tune for all ? (maybe not if just 50 $ for a new tune).

Maybe some from pcmforless or madz28 can answer me on this ?

Matt, did you have a poly trans mount installed when you installed the Pacesetter LT's and Y-pipe new? I might have asked you this before but I don't remember.
When I installed an ES poly trans mount on my car, my Y-pipe also hit the floorboard on the drivers side because the poly mount set the rear of the tranny up higher since it was much thicker than the stock mount.
I had to fab up some spacers to lower the crossmember 1/2" so the y-pipe would clear seen in this picture. You can see the spacers I made {orange} between the crossmember and the body.
And IMO that thicker mount also screws up the driveshaft angle slightly.

pace setter lt's with cutouts then summit x pipe and 2 short dynomax bulletts then dump before the axel with some turn downs and it will sound better than any stang on the road. No cats either.
