Complete exhaust system

I am looking at picking up some components to uprgrade my 94 lt1 exhaust system and I was hoping some of you would have some good info for me.

I searched through the board and saw lots of good info on headers, cats, y-pipes, and cat backs but nothing really on ALL together!! I reaaly dont want to piece together parts only to find out that I either missed something or two parts dont fit right together.. etc.

Prefferably I would like to stick with the same company all the way back (such as Hooker) to ensure propper fitment, but I know that is not feasible. Maybe someone knows of a good combination recommended by a company or shop -- or personal input?

Thanks for the input.

Hmm...Well I called the show where my car is and they said I would get it back today...but who knows its been almost two weeks and Im really anxious. Anyway, I am running jet hots (which are the same or similar as hookers as Ive read many times) mufflex y pipe designed for the hooker headers, and a hooker cat back. Ill let you know how the setup is if I get my car back.

i would say, get any CAI (they all have the same gain of HP), and get a complete set of hookers long tube headers, and hooker cat back system. make sure you order for a 94 Z28, since there are some of 95's that have a dual cat, so it will be a different set up....good luck

anyone have the jet hot long tubes with the mufflex Ypipe and mufflex 4in cat back with spintech muffler? i would really like to know if that bigger pipe gets rid of the rasp that some exhausts give with headers.

I just got my car back!! YAY! I have jet hots with mufflex, the shop said it was a pain in the *** and everything is a real tight fit, but it sounds glourious.

can you put together a sound clip?

what kind of hp/torque gains are you "supposed" to get?

And what cat are you using?

How much did the shop charge you to put in the headers? Cat-back if they did that too? I was quoted $60-$80 for a cat-back install on mine.

Id have to say the long tubes are amazing and the hooker cat back opens up to a scream when you step on it. I can get sound clip/video if someone can host it. The shop took 16 hours for the install, but they only charged me for 7 hours, so it was a little over 700.

For everything. It only took them a 2 hours to weld up the y pipe and make custom hangers for the cat back and install it. If you go to my cardomain site you can see how tight fir the driver side is. O I have a magnaflow cat or carsound the one off of ebay.
