Question Comp XE 224-230

hi,
i have my cam choices down to 2.
1. hotcam kit
2. combination motorsports kit
*Comp XE 224-230
i need to pass emissions with either 1. i'm leaning towards the xe, but would i have a harder time passing with this?, i know the hc would be easier to pass with a tune.
any ideas u have on this.
thanks

I have the XE cam and got it tuned. As long as you get a good tune you should be able to pass emissions with it. I woudl definitly recomend it. Great cam!

The 224/230 is an AWESOME cam. My mods list is in my sig. It pulls well into the rev limiter. I really need some tuning... actually I need a T56 but that's another story.

You will NOT be disappointed with this cam. I really wanted to go with the 230/236, but Seth and the boys over at Combo Motorpsorts told me to go 224/230... I was doubtful, but now I'm a true believer.

If you're ever in Lafayette or Chi-town let me know... I'll show ya what it sounds like with Hooker LT's and Purple Hornies as mufflers

Hey man I would love to hear that cam in person. I'm saving up to get the 224/230 sometime this summer. Maybe we can meet up this weekend for a few minutes and you can let me listen. I live in a dorm so I don't have my car on campus but I only live 20 min away so I have it on the weekends. Let me know if you have time this weekend.

Hey limited1le, what kind of tune do you have, i might have missed it in your sig but i dont think so. Is it just a basic pcmforless, or is it tuned beyond that? I dont think my pcmfoless is right, and i want to try something new.

I had a guy from BV performance come out and tune my car. He does more than just a basic tune. Right now I'm running straight BLM's and no knock. I don't even have the LT4 KM. I would highly recomend his tuning. Great guy to deal with. It cost me $300 to do it, but thats cheaper than a dyno tune. I was going to get the dyno tune at Speed Inc., but I didn't like how they do 8-10 pulls and then drive it around too after. Seems a little hard on the car to me. But definitly get the cam. Sounds great and pulls very hard up to 6200rpm. PM me if you have any other questions.
