Comp R or not? LE2 package

I was wanting to get some stock lifters because of all the problems I see people having adjusting the Comp R lifters, but will a new set of stock lifters hold up?

R lifters are the way to go ive got a set that im going to put in when i get the rest of the parts together to rebuild it all. Im sure there have been just as many problems with the stock lifters as the R lifters.

Re: Comp R or not? LE2 package

Depends really onyour spring pressures, if its over 350 #s open then it will be questionable.

Maybe if you knew the cam/spring specs we would help you with supporting components, but since you dont.... Call Joe, call lloyd.

Stock lifter can take much more abuse than folks think. We're running stock lifters on Jason99TA's set up. Cam is 244/254 .632/.628, not a daily driver, but you get the idea.

Re: Comp R or not? LE2 package

It has more to do with spring loads and RPM more than anything.

The LE2 package can work with out them but it will work better with them. If you are running a spring like a 977 then it's a good idea since that's a beefy spring.
