Comp R lifter users inside please. Question

I just recently put my motor back together and made the mistake of using some cheap lifter I found on ebay. I believe they are causing me problems with knock retard. The reason I say this is because after a full throttle pass through the first 2 gears, I notice the scanmaster showing up to 7 degrees of KR even at idle. After a few minutes, no KR is present. I'm thinking that the lifters are bleeding off oil at high rpms then taking a little bit of time to pump back up.
I'm considering changing them to some comp Rs but would like to know if there are any side affects I need to be aware of. How about setting them up, is there any special procedure or would it be the same as any other roller rocker?

Ive got a set that im getting ready to install and im under the impression that they are set up the same way. One thing that i have heard is you are not going to have to preload the "R" series lifters

Do a search for "Comp R lifters" and you'll turn up a whole slew of threads from the past few months dealing with lifter adjustment.

Some guys are having luck with them at anything from zero lash to 1/4-turn.
