comp 1.6 (non promags) vs stock 1.5 rockers

im having my heads ported and polished...and resurfaced and all that good stuff, i really dont have the money do buy the pro mags, my question is will i see or feel a difference with the 1.6 roller tip rockers that are not pro-mags...i can get them at deal cost like $125 or so. or should i just keep the 1.5's on there, im also installing a set of Z28 springs.

thanks for your time and info,
steve

Yes the roller tipped magnum 1.6 rockers are MUCH better than stock rockers. I have the magnum rockers (I couldn't afford the pros) and I can hold my own against cammed LS1s.

Plus, the roller tipped rockers are quieter than full roller rockers from what I hear.

Still much better than stock.

Thyere not really any beter than stock. They have a roller tip, oooohhh, who cares, thats not where the majority of the friction is. The MAIN purpose of roller rockers on our cars isnt for the increased lift (prob dosent hurt) or the roller tip. Its for the roller fulcurm. Thats where the majority of the friction and horse power loss comes from. Just look in the forsale section for some comp, gmpp, or crane golds and buy em used. THats what i did, and they work great. Hope this helps, Prorac1

Sure they're better than stock. They're stronger, have a higher ratio (1.6), and have roller tips, that helps w/ the friction some over stock, and more consistant ratios. Yeah they're not as good as the pro mags, but it's better than stock.
