Combination Motorsports Cam Kit ???????

Hey, I called Combination Motorsports up today and asked them about there cam kits. I am running stock heads and decided I will probably go with the 224/230 Xtreme engergy Cam kit. I asked them and they said it comes with everything you need but Lifters, for $579.
Heres the question I have a Friend who works at compcams in Memphis and he asked me if all of those cam kit parts are from CompCams. He told me he didn't think so becuase that price seemed to cheap.
Can someone tell me the quality of the parts in these kits, are they worth getting or not, are they compcam parts.
I figure if the kit is as good as they say for another $100 lifters can be had and then I will get a Lt4 Extreme duty timing chain and start the cam swap process.

The only comp cam parts are the cam and the rockers, I bought that same exact kit and am in the process of installing that now. I have heard nothing but good things about combination so I doubt that you have to worry about the quality of the other parts involved. As far as lifters go, if you can find them for 100 bucks please enlighten me and the rest of the board because everywhere else they are at least 200

I'm in the process of getting my kit with the same cam. Gaskets cost an additional $35.

$35 dollars for Gaskets, what all gaskets does it come with. (intake, timing chaing gaskets etc). I believe you can just reuse Stock Lifters for our type of applications that can be bought for around $100 from Jason Cromer I believe. You might want to check on that though.

Do you have any pictures of you car? I would like to see what those rims look like without lowering springs. Thanks.

The parts that come in the kit will work fine and you can't beat the price.

The only thing I've heard bad about the kit is that the retainers that you get are prone to shed a very slight amount of metal, so it's a real good idea to change your oil after about 100 miles. I got my new cam from Combination in their GP. Great bunch of guys.

So, sc93. How do you like that 227/233? Or anyone else running it. I just got mine in last night. Gonna put the rest back together tonight. I cant wait till it runs.

I'm still working on a few little things to get it back on the road, like bleeding the rest of the air out of the coolant system.

I'll let you know in a day or so!

Are you using that 227/233 on stock heads. What is your current setup, I am unfamiliar with that cam shaft.
