Combination Motorsports 227/233

Hey guys I need to make my cam decision today and I was wondering about this cam... I have spoke with Seth and he reccomends this cam ........I dont want to go to small nor too big as I live in Cali and emmissions will be an issue..

Will this cam pass smog with a tune?????

Do you think its a good match for my mods?
Flowmaster exhaust
Hooker shorties
airfoil
CAI
Midwest 3200 stall 2.1 stator

Parts going in with cam:
Pro magnum 1.6 rr's NON-SA
new lifters
pushrods
valve seals
combo spring kit

Im just running stock heads probably for the year.

I have seen searches but havent seen smog brought up with this cam......

Whats your recommendations?????

Shawn

I dont think that cam will pass unless you have it ground on a 114 LSA, you might still be pushing it. Might be better off with the XE 224/230, I know people have gotten that to pass with a 114 LSA.

My friend Steve (818camaro95) just got this cam. He hasn't installed it yet though, probably in the next month or so. I think with a good tune on a 114 LSA and you should pass. And if you don't just find someone a little more leniant and give em a case of beer, hehe. If you are REALLY concerned with not passing, go with a smaller cam like the 224/230 as importeater suggested.

I have that cam. Seth recommeded it to me too. It is in the car now. I should get my pcm back from madwolf today. Then I SHOULD be able to give you my opinions. Right now however with stock gears and stall it is a dog out of the hole. I have 3.42's and a 2800 slp stall waiting to go in. I am not sure if it would pass the cali sniffer though. It does seem to pull hard from 2700 on though. Do not let them sell you the guideplates they have for the nsa rockers. They only work for regular sbc, not lt1's. I had to send mine back and buy the lt4 guideplates from thunderracing.com They are like 20 bucks from them.

Not sure what your talking about there...I've had them on my care for quite a few months and haven't had a bit of problems.

Do a search on here and you will notice the only guideplates that work with the lt1 are the lt4 guideplates. The other don't line up. You may have gotten them to work but they are not lined up properly. Lt1's need a different one than regular small block chevys.

I asked the guy at CMotorsports if their guideplates would work for a 95 LT1, and he said yes...

Thread Hijackers :P

I went a different direction.......

226/236 LSA112
.535 / .565

We will see how it does.............
Probably respond to a 100 shot nice if I can scrounge some extra cash.

Somewhere in between a cc305 and a cc306
