just order an MSD for $40...they are generally better than stock replacements...

If you use the search forum, it will help on different opinions.... Most are all the same, some ppl use stock, some use MSD( but they have had problems with them in the past, dont know now) and I use an Accel...Had it since '99 so far no probs...

You can order a Jegs coil for about the same price as an MSD (I think the Jegs is cheaper). They claim more voltage than the MSD, but overall, they are all pretty much the same

coil swap

i would recomend the msd pt#8226 real easy to replace the coil and ignition modual (i would recomend gm there)are on the same barcket you will have to grind off the rivits that hold the factory coil in place dont worry the msd coil comes with new hardware the modual is held on with 2 screws dont forget to get some dielectic grease to put on the back of your new modual

All coils are about the same and the afetrmarket ones go bad just like the stock coil. I've had my car towed because my Accel coil crapped out on me. I've seen several people on here say that the stock 96/97 coil is the most reliable but I have a 95 so I just use the stock coil.

The stock coil is great, especially 96-97 coils. There is really no gain to be had going aftermarket.
