Coil Bind? Valvetrain experts in here.

First off, thanks for the many postings, I've learned a lot. Maybe not enough...

As far as I know, I don't have coil bind; but I recently had a spring (No. 7 exhaust) break. The car is a '95 A4, with stock valvetrain except for:

CC305 camshaft
220/230 @ .050, .510 w/1.5rrs, adv. 276/290

CC Magmun 1.6 roller rockers

CC ovate wire springs (#983)
Seat Load 105 @ 1.700, open load 310 @ 1.20, coil bind 1.150, rate 410

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Well I'm not an expert but have an input on this. With the 1.6 rocker the lift of that cam will be 0.544", and that spring can support 1.700 - 1.150 - 0.05 = 0.500". The 0.05" is a safety factor. That is a small spring for this cam, comp recommends 986 BTW.
