Code effect performance???

if i put on long tubes with no emissions hook ups...remove air/egr and put them on will my car throw a code that will effect performance, i plan on gettin reprogmammed out but i want to do this then save for abotu a month for 1.6rr then get a tune

What year is your car? 93-95 will not set a code for missing AIR pump, as long as there is a good fuse in the circuit. When you delete the EGR on those cars, about 90% of the cars will not see a code set. Only a few get the SES light for missing EGR in OBD-I.

thats me obd1 94 z28 a4...how does it know that the egr is missing??? and wat fuse do you mean for the sir pump...u mean in the fuse pannel or rig on where the connection for the air pump is???

There is a fuse in one of the panels that serves the AIR pump. You don't have to add another one. The one that is already there just needs to be "good".

The PCM looks for a small change in MAP when the EGR valve is commanded "open". If it doesn't see the pressure change, it sets the code for no EGR flow. Its extremely sensitive diagnostic on the OBD-II cars, but doesn't seem to be very sensitive on OBD-I.
