Coated LT question...

CAn ne one tell me about how much they gained with coated longtubes? I have the hotcam with p&p heads, and intake, 58mm tb, 1.6 rr, CAI, all the free mods, and a cutout. I was wondering what to expect with LT, I am really dissapointed about the power I am at with these mods. I am posting alot bc I am frustrated, sorry for the complaining. NE input would b nice.

You would probably see a pretty big gain. People see.3 with LT's and just blots ons, with a heads/cam i wouldnt be supprised if you dropped .5 over stock manifolds, assuming thats what you have.

I talked to a guy who had his car dynotuned and installed uncoated hooker long tube headers and got a baseline reading. Later that day, they immediately switched out the uncoated headers for coated hooker long tubes and saw a gain of 13 horsepower at the rear wheels. Pretty impressive for an extra 150 bucks to coat.

damn.....i cant believe you did heads and cam and no long tubes.....with the set up you have now and when you put lt's on you could very well drop a half sec on your 1/4 time.....i would definantly go with coated headers, it keeps the engine alot cooler and they will out last any uncoated header.....and ditch the cats you will be a very happy man!!!!!!!!

Re: Coated LT question...

That does make it seem worth the coating, but how much of a gain in hp do LT's usually bring, .5 off the 1/4 is very impressive..

Re: Coated LT question...

I was about to put the headers on directly after the other stuff got installed, btu i wrecked it and needed the money for a hood and front bumper. But I am saving for them again and was just seeing what gains to expect. thanx
