Clutch or Tire problem??

I thought my clutch was on its way out.. When the motor is cool it worked great but after it heated up it felt like the clutch was slipping.. seems kinda backwards to me but didn’t think about it much. My tires had seen much better days so I put new ones on, now the slipping problem has been nonexistent ever since. Its only been a couple days so maybe just wishful thinking. Could it be that when the tires heated up the rim was actually slipping in the tire and in fact my clutch is not the problem?? That seems to make more sence then the clutch grabbing cold but not hot, I would think it would slip more when cold then hot or just slip period no matter what temp.. Aside from that there is only 50k miles on the car, I've put about 12k of that on her. I would think the clutch would last a little longer then 50k miles even if it was beaten by previous owners which I don’t think they did at all. Any thoughts?

TIA!!
Craig

Hmm...you should really be able to tell when the clutch is slipping. I don't think the rim can slip in the tire....that's impossible!

It is possible if he was running alot of hp and a slick. I do think your issue is a slipping clutch.
