clutch slave cylinder
My friend has a 95 LT-1 Z-28.His clutch slave cylinder he thinks is bad. Will not go into gear.He says it was at the top of the pedal just before it "crapped the tights".Neither of us know to much about hydraulic clutches.does anyone have any clues as what went wrong,or how to fix it?
the hydraulics can just go bad over time. the slave and master cylinder and resevoir come all together. they come with lines prebled and full of fluid also. all you have to do is take your whole assembly off and put the new one on. the gm part # is 12557509. it usually runs around $100.
thanks we got the old one off.next is the fork suppost to have any play in it.it seems a bit sloppy.we are concerned that there may be more damage to internal parts. thanks for the help
i am not to sure about the fork. i do know that some people have had problems with theirs though. when re-doing a clutch setup, many people replace the throw out bearing and the pilot bushing for maintenance. also, a few people had a problem with one of the springs coming out of place or even a spring breaking and this causes their cars not to go into gear. i also have this problem every once in a while and i don't know what it is.
