Clutch question

I have a '94 Z28. Its stock besides the exhaust. I was starting to feel the clutch slip when i was in a high gear. I called a local shop and found out that a replacement clutch was $715!! and another 350 to install! I've never heard of this much for a clutch. I then called chevy and they told me the same price. I don't race, i just like a fast drivable car. Are there any cheaper clutches out there that are good quality for everyday driving besides the GM replacement??
