Unhappy Clutch Problems !!!!!

Well I have been having problems with this clutch since it was new. It is a LUK clutch and we turned the flywheel and installed it correctly. Probably has around 6k on it. At the track tonight and I heated up the Nitto's then dumped it around 5k and the clutch slipped, then slipped when I shifted into 2nd , then grabbed when i went into 3rd the started slipping as i went down the track. Before it slipped the pedal was high and right after the pedal was low then progressivly got higher as I released it, now it is back to the high position. Could it be the Slave Cylinder or something else? Sorry for the length.

Im guessing the LUK is the brand??? If so Ive never heard of that brand before. Sounds like its just a ****ty clutch or something. Does it slip any other time but at the track? The master/slave is usually good or bad, could be the problem but doubt it, check the fluid though in the master. If you do go with a new one I have a stage 3 spec kevlar and its pretty sweet, drives pretty easy, relatively speaking, grips hardcore.

LUK is a pretty common replacement factory clutch.. But a stock clutch by no means is not going to hold a 5K dump.. Nor will your rear end.. So consider it a blessing.. but as far as your mods go a Mcleod Dual Friction would be a good choice.. And their customer service is beyond top notch.> As far as Spec go.. i'd stay away.. especially from their kevlar.. it burns up and disintergrate's fairly easily as to why they don't offer a stage III no more in the kevlar material. all be cause of ME.. I have a stock clutch in my car right now while my Street Twin is getting refreshened up by mcleod and i launch at 2800 and it slips.. So... its new also.. Nbd really

I've heard of a lot of problems with the Stage 3 spec. Spec redesigned the Stage 3 so I am not certain if the problems I have heard of result from the old design or the new design. Spec is known to have great customer service and will usually just replace your clutch if it blows up shortly after install. The McLeod Street Twin is an expensive alternative but I've yet to hear of anyone having a problem with it. It can easily hold 5 or 6K dumps.

The fluid level is fine in the master. Forgot to tell you guys that it has done this with the stock clutch and with two LUK's that is why I thought it might be the slave. But it only does it when it gets hot. I also get a shutter when I down shift into second I guess this could be the Pressure Plate? Is the Spec carbon good I can't afford the street twin. What about Centerforce Duel Friction?

Centerforce is not a good Camaro clutch. Some people don't have problems but there's been enough issues that I wouldn't recommend them.

How much HP are you pushing? A Stage 2 is good up to about 400 HP I've been told. A Stage 3 should work. Just keep in mind what I said before about the Stage 3.

I went through a whole lot of Centerforce installs and finally switched to an automatic. The McLeod was looking pretty good considering the thousands I spent on clutches and labor (seven installs, two slave cylinders).

I should have around 385-400 crank HP. Hopefully closer to 400, So the stage two should be enough right. What is the difference between stage 2 and three? Any body know why the pedal was grabbing really low right after it slipped?

I suggest getting the stage III over the stage II . Price isn't much different and it will take more abuse than the II. Might as well do it right the first time or drop your tranny 3 times in a year like me.
