"Clunking" noise occasionally on 1-2 shift @ 3/4 throttle
"Clunking" noise occasionally on 1-2 shift @ 3/4 throttle
Ok.. symptoms:
- 95 Z28 Convertible, stock tranny, 109,000 miles (I think.. it's around there)
- Clunking noise SEEMING to come from directly under the armrest, it is pretty noticable, but only on the 1-2 shift @ more than 1/2 throttle. If I am just cruising, then NO clunking noise and perfect shifts.
What do you guys think ? Could it be anything other than tranny rebuild time ?

its most likely a transmission mount, I went through 3 stock type ones until I switched to an energy suspension mount. but be warned, the polyurethane mount will transmit vibrations considerably more than the rubber ones.
