Cloyes timnig chain?

Does Cloyes make a double roller timing chain set I could use with the stock AC Delco waterpump? What does the 'true' roller setup mean?

Thanks

I dont think so. And the "Hex-a-just" will not work even with the electric pump.

I'm using a standard(non hexajust) Cloyes Double Roller, but I have the CSI Pump.

I would be upgrading to electric but I just replaced the pump so I just need a good combo. Cloyes seem to be fairly priced. The LT4 set is much more pricey, anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Cloyes timnig chain?

no. only a few manufacturers i know of make timing chains with the gear drive for the water pump. if i recall, true roller means that the chain links have a true full roller as a riding surface on the sprockets. It's been a while since i've heard and explanation, but thats what i thought it was. lol

Isn't there a cheaper alternative from Cloyes that is significantly stronger and more durable than the stock timing chain? I'm not so much looking for great numbers from it, I guess just a little bit of bang for the buck. I am trying to upgrade for my H/C package that is ready to go in.

Thanks

You'll still need a way to turn the water pump. Cloyes doesn't make a chain with the drive for the water pump that I knew of, unless things changed (doubt it).

How much does the CSI electric go for now? It was $139 when I bought mine...

Cloyes makes the LT4 ED for GM and makes their own version.

Oh sweet, learn something new every day. Is it packaged under a Cloyes timing set? ~2 yrs ago when I was looking for a timing set I hadn't heard about a Cloyes set that would work with the stock water pump...is it something new? Or did I just miss it then?

I'll try and find the part number of the cloyes chain that I have been running on all our cammed cars. Its identical to the lt4 extreme duty set. Fits just as tight too. I think I get it for like $135 or so for the complete set.
