Cloyes double roller instruction manual

I forgot which circle and which keyway to line up for stock timing advance. Anyone have the instruction sheet because I can't find mine? Thanks.

Re: Cloyes double roller instruction manual

on the crank gear there should only be one keyway....as for the rest, line them up dot to dot.

when you stick the crank gear on, rotate the crank until the dot is at the 12 o'clock position (the big dot on the very outside, not the plus or minus or other dot) then stick on the cam gear with the bolts in it. move it until that dot is at the 6 o'clock position. make sure it is absolutley correct! being off by on tooth advanced or retarded could pretty much screw up everything. when you dot to dot, take the cam gear off, put on the new chain with the cam gear and play with it untill it goes on correctly.

when the chain is on...recheck it by moving the crank and make sure those dots line up!!...if they dont then just redo it over again! doesnt take that long to recheck everything. example, if i didnt recheck it...i would have been off by one tooth.

One of the marks should be round. That is straight up, without advance or retard.

Re: Cloyes double roller instruction manual

Yea, the crank key is like a square, a square with a rounded edge and something else. The dots are like a triangle, a Circle and another circle, one is oval I think, let me go outside and double check.

Re: Cloyes double roller instruction manual

I thought the crank gear had a square, triangle and circle. The circle (or dot) should be straight up.

Cam gear has a dot (big gear). The hub gear has 3 keyways, and im sure I used the right one. It also has 3 timing marks, square, circle and triangle. Don't remember which timing mark to use. Just phoned my buddy and he doesnt remember when we put the cam in.
