Climate Control Question...

Guys in our cars we've got two temp control *****. My question is the one labled, "Off, Max, AC" etc...there are three of them that are blue, Max, and AC, and then one that is not labled...does that use the ac compressor? It sounds as if it does...kind of a dumb question but I wondered if it was affecting my mileage. I assume it does.

I think that the one with 2 arrows does (it's blue as well) Also the Defogger uses it as well. The one of just the arrow pointing to the head is just a vent. Did that answer your question?

Edit: You could look to see if your clutch is engaged on the compressor.

THats true I didn't even think about checking under the hood...don't ask me why I guess its just something I'm not used to thinking about...I just wondered cause when I switched it over to the blue one iwthout the label today it was like "hisssssssssss" like the compressor was kicking on...

AC, MAX, Bi-level and defrost all run teh compressor.

Max will close the reciurculation door and recycle the inside air.

Bi-level will make teh air come out the floor and vents
