"Clicking" noise from under the engine when hot
Hello from Norway ;-)
(Excuse if my english is bad...I will try to explain :-)
I have a 1994camaro Z28. (1LE. One out of 135 made!) 6speed. man. The engine is stock and driven only 50000. Installed manual fan-switch and removed cat. The car has a new ignition-module and sparkplugs (Irridium)
My problem is : My car starts and run fine when cold. After a wilhe it starts to make noises. The engine runs fine, but i hear a random "clicking"/ "knocking" sound form under the dash/ engine. I open the hood, but can not hear anything wrong from the engine itself. But inside my car i can hear the sound better. Its like the fuel pump get to hot and stop to function...? This last for about 30sec, and then the "clicking " niose runs faster and suddenly the engine goes dead...No ses-light. The car runs normal when cold again. What can this be?

Connect a fuel pressure gauge to your fuel pressure valve. This valve should be located either on the drivers side fuel rail or behind your intake manifold on the fuel rail. You can attach this and tape the gauge to your windshield and drive around until the car starts to sputter again to see if its a lack of fuel...
I would lean more towards your opti spark being bad. It will not throw an SES light either when it goes bad.
Also make sure your ignition module is secure to the heat sink it attaches too.. If that gets to hot then your car wont run..
Does the car immediately start after it quits or do you have to wait to let it "cool" down before starting the vehicle... ?

Sounds like your ICM that you replaced may be not secure or soaking up too much heat.. If your ICM gets too hot your car wont run..
The opti spark will either make your car run crappy (miss fire) or just not work at all.
I would make sure that ICM is secure and installed properly.
How many times have you driven it and it turned off on you? And every time you let it cool down it starts up again right?

Thanks for good reply :-)
The ICM was replaced last october. I have not driven the car many times since that. I has been stored in a garage for winter from december to april. After the replacement, the car runs fine...But i dont remember if i drove the car warm enough.. I just test it and get the car stored for winter... Now i have driven the car two times this week, and i get exactly the same result when it is hot. It make noises and stop... I have to wait untill its get colder again. Then it starts fine and sound great :-) Untill.....
