Question Cleaning MAF

After reading countless threads on Heistation/Surging, my next loigical thing to do is clean the MAF.
So I was wondering if anyone had tips or the correct procedure for this, as I understand how delicate of an item the MAF is.

Any input as always is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Take it out, clean it with a towel and rubbing alcohol. To clean the resistors, get q tips with rubbing alcohol and lightly brush the resistors. Use rubbing alcohol or some other sort of electronics cleaner because it dries fast.

Cleaning the MAF if it has not been cleaned really does wonders.

I just finished posting a thread on cleaning my MAF and the results from doing it! The car is awesome now...it's like a new beast!!!
I used common choke/carb cleaner and just sprayed it on!! I had to use the corner of a shop towel to get some of the gunk off one of the resistors. Do this very very carefully!!! I just barely used the tip!!! The oil and dust should come off pretty easily. Then just let it dry before installing and starting your car!! You may want to take your TB off and clean that while you're at it, along with the IAC sensor. Order the gasket set before you do this. You may be able to save the IAC and TB Plate gasket. I was able to, but will replace them the next time it take it off!!
Good luck!!

On a level of 1 to ten how hard is it to remove/reinstrall the tb?
I may want to do this because it seems to be the only way to get the IAC out to clean it. Want ot make sure UI can do this before getting all jammbed up..

I would say its a 2 but I am pretty good with mechanical stuff.
Its not hard at all, the only thing that stumped me for a second was how to get the cruise control and throttle cables off but you will see how its done.
I hate putting used parts back on if I can help it so I put in a new TPS and IAC after cleaning the TB and it made a big difference.

I agree about a 2! It's fairly straight forward to take off. Just remember when you tighten up the bolts that you are going into aluminum...don't overtighten!!! You should have no problems! It's worth the time to do!!
