Cleaning Lifters

Anyone have a good idea of how you could clean a stock lifter out? had some garbage in the oil so the motors in the shop, these are almost new stock lifters and i'd like to reuse them. I was gonna use carb cleaner and compressed air, then let them sit in clean oil prior to install.

I'd like to know too since I spun a bearing. Okay to reuse the lifters and rockers?

What kind of "garbage" was in your oil?

Re: Cleaning Lifters

I found an article on google that said push in on them with a pushrod then, set them upside down in clean oil.

Im still not positive that my problem is a spun bearing, looks like someone poured glitter in my oil if you look at it with a magnifying glass. This is a freshly rebuilt street/strip shortblock, so the engine builder gets to fuigure out what went wrong.

I hadn't realized that you could disassemble the stock lifters, so that's what I ended up doing. Thanks for the input.
