Cleaning Injectors the right way

Is there a guide anywhere on how to properly clean the injectors? I'm kinda confused as to how to take them out and what needs to be taken out for me to gettem out.

To clean injectors, they don't get removed. Dealerships do it by forcing the cleaning solution through the schrader valve into the fuel rail. They disable the fuel pump, hook the injector cleaning tool up to the schrader valve and pour the cleaner into a tube on the tool. The tube has a hose that runs to the schrader valve. Compressed air is run to the tube and the car is started. The cleaner runs through the schrader valve under the compressed air pressure, into the fuel rail and out through the injectors. This breaks down deposits inside the injector, where they get dirty, not on the outside of the injector. I've heard there are aftermarket kits, you may want to check with a NAPA or other auto parts store.

why would you need to "clean" injectors?

have u ever seen how small the holes are in a injector? Pump gas,no matter what brand or octane, is gonna clog up your injectors in a street car with a say, 60k miles or so. It might not completly clog, but u it sure wouldnt hurt with a car over 60k IMO. I cleaned mine with a kit from the local parts store around 75k and noticed a better idle and slightly better gas milage, nothing too brag about, but, I got results so it was worth it.

Suppose i got some new injectors, how much of a job would it be to replace them? What do i need to take off to get them all hooked up?

I use the 3M kit hooked to the schrader valve. It does wonders. to replace the injectors, you have to remove the fuel lines and the fuel rails. The injectors are very expensive. To get them cleaned should cost less than $60.00. don't replace them till you clean em. Then figure out why you want to change them.
