Your opti is going bad and eventually it wont start at all. The car when cold runs like a scauled dog and it feels it's fastest am i correct?
YES!!!! The car runs SOOOOO good when I first start it. So I guess I'm in the market for a new opti. Anyone know a good place to buy one at a reasonable price?

Look up Jason Cromer in here for the number. He will give you the best price (NEW), and its a GM part, not an autozone opti.

When I ordered mine I got it on the 3rd day.

sounds like the opti. my car did the same thing. when i first started it up and it was cool, it would run perfectly, no problems. then after it warmed up, it would miss at low and high rpm's. the idle would also jump around like i had a vaccum leak or something. i replaced the opti and everything was like new again.

Could also be plug wires getting hot and breaking down. Let it get good and hot and look for arcing...

UPDATE!!!
I think I have found the culprits. MY PLUGS AND WIRES!!! I had some cheap A/C Delco’s and the MSD 8.5mm in for about a year now and the MSD’s did not hold up. Two wires had cracks on the plug side and one of the wires was so brittle that the plug side fall apart when I took it off the plug!!! Im not impressed with MSD’s quality. None of the plugs were touching the headers and was spaced out as best as possible considering the tight space underneath and around the engine bay. The A/C Delco’s had a lot of carbon build up, when I have more time I will post pics of both the plugs and wires. I’M VERY DISAPOINTED IN MSD!!!

ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!!

Well it seems that my opti was the problem all along. After driving around a few days with new plugs and wires, my problems came back. So for the weekend it looks like I’m going to drink a few beers and change the opti. I’m not looking forward to it because of what I have read here on the board and from 2 other f-body friends, it’s a pain in the ***!!! So much for going to the beach and having a relaxing weekend!!!

theres at least half a chance the two issues are related...having arcing plug wires and misfiring cylinders is a really good way to hasten your opti's departure...so if they have been like that for a while, that may be the cause.
