Chrome CAI?

I am buying a LT1 f-body pretty soon, and am getting my game plan together for what i am doing to it. I have looked all over and just cant seem to find a cold air intake with a chrome tube, i know ive seen them before, but just cant seem to find them. Are these custom made pieces or am i just missing them?

Re: Chrome CAI?

I've seen an SLP unit with a bright polished finish... don't know if it was bought that way from SLP, or if the owner stripped the black paint and polished it himself.

Here is a not so recent pic showing the Chrome SLP unit. It's a little dirty, but you get the idea. Much more has been done since this pic, but it's the only one with a good shot.

Re: Chrome CAI?

I highly reccomend the AS Speed and marine one, that's what I am using...
very easy to get on and off. THe SLP unit came on my car when I brought it, it looked cool yeah, but was a pain in the *** to get on and off... Getting the filters off sucked and trying to remove it to work on the car sucked... had to go underneath the car every time you wanted to take it off sucked. With the AS&M everything can be done from the top, and the filter is a breeze to get on and off too.

Re: Chrome CAI?

I bought the stage two off ebay and it looks great and easy to install. Also type in f-body air on ebay and check out the chrome elbows. They look great and fitment is awesome. Can't beat the prices either. Mine looks really good installed. Hoped this helped you out.
