i recomend stripping them down before coating or high temp paint or what ever you do takes forever but real good results

I didn't know Bret had Comp grind his cams. Nice pile of mods. Good luck on the install.

Why did you have to say that? How would you like it if someone said that to you after you purchased nearly 4k in mods?

comp pushrods, rr's, arp stud bolts, gm guideplates, timing cover gaskets, timing chain and gear set, summit electric waterpump, urithane motor mounts, underdrive crank pully, head bolts, intake manifold gaskets, mr gasket head gasket, roller lifters, summit cap and rotor kit, pacesetter y pipe and headers, moroso cold air intake, and of course LE2 heads, cam, and ported intake manifold. I think that is everything, though I still have to get things like tb, maf, injectors, fuel pump....ect. I still have alot to get. I really wish that I would have got the coated headers. They recomend painting them with hightemp header paint or wrap, so I have to take care of that now.
Don't feel bad, I think we all have a drawer full of Summit stickers. Its impossible to use them all since they give them to you by the sheet.

I wonder how much those shops usually charge to powdercoat a set of headers? I dont even know any shops around where I live that will do that. And by the way you guys should have seen my girlfriends face when I showed her my pile. She was like I want to go for a ride! I am so lucky to have a girlfriend that is a gearhead also. Makes my life alot easier. lol

My wife is a good one, tolerates but does not understand it all really. Only time she bowed up was insisting that I sell the CBR954RR after it pitched me with a tank slapper on my way home from work...and I was being good! She did agree that I could keep the Harley. I prob had no business being the only 54 yo dude in the county doing wheelies, but is was fun...so was the careflight, dang pretty nurse on that thang.

I will call and ask about power coating and post info in a few.

You mean like when I came home from work and said "I have earned a midlife crisis but am going to make it easy on you, I want to buy a Harley-Davidson"

"Ok baby, how much do they cost?"

"Probably 20k or so."

That is almost as much as a swimming pool."

Long story short...after I paid for the pool I got the scoot.

Called top coat but got voice mail and searching the site I did not see headers, everything else but no headers.

Thats what my closet looks like....all I need is an oil pump and a timing chain and I am good to go on my install (I have a stroker crank, rods, tb, inj, , gears, coilovers, ect ect though). Why pay for the coating when it comes off just as quick as the paint, good luck ---
