Christmas List: Which Cam?

My dad is going to order me a cam for Christmas and I need to decide which one to get. I have searched and couldn't come up with a definite answer so please help me.

I currently have stock LT4 heads, Intake, HOT CAM, Jet Hot LT's, Borla Cat Back, 3200 Vigilante, 3.73's, and K&N CAI.

I don't want to do any additional head work besides new valve springs (suggestions on them too) I only drive the car on weekends not even every weekend so it doesn't have to be a daily driver friendly cam.

With this being said which of these cams would you choose CC306, GM847, 230/236, or 233/239?

Bobby

gm847 was my choice.

i think the only reason to choose the XE's is if you dont wanna rev as high.

I'm no expert but I'd say go for the Xe230/236 if you aren't doing any headwork. You could go larger with the GM847, but who knows how well it will run. Some people have good experiences and some have bad....

I went with the 233/239 and coudn't be happier. The springs I used are combination motorsports 612 springs. Some people don't like them because they're single coil but I'll give them a chance anyway.

Well, three replies and all said three different cams, hehe.

I have seen some people have good or bad with the 847 I agree with you there. But it seems that most people with the CC306 and the 230/236 are happy with them.

Haven't heard alot about the 233/239 just saw it on the Combination page and thought it was one to consider.

madwolf, I have the sound file that you posted downloaded, sounds good. Any dyno or track numbers yet.

I would be really interested to see some track numbers if anyone has them with similar mods to mine with any of these cams.

Also madwolf I have been thinking about those springs as well. I talked to Combination and they think the springs would be fine for any of the cams. Also talked to Lloyd Elliott and he suggested the 612 springs so they must be pretty good. They seem to be a quality spring at a great price.

He didn't point out anything bad about the 847 just that some people have had bad experiences with it, to me that means that they weren't happy with the way it ran. But maybe I was misunderstanding what he meant.

hear good things about the 847 cam, im not to impressed from the 230/236 cam on stock heads, similar power output to a lt4 hot cam on stock heads.
