christmas in july......
christmas in july......
I literally felt like a kid on Christmas! My b'day is on Tuesday and the wife apparently ordered my wheels i wanted for the car because FedEx showed up at my house with 6 packages today. Staggered zr1 wheels in black with polished lip! Gotta love surprises from the wifey lol
other packages to include(that i ordered)
cc503 cam
Lifters and valve springs
Magnum 1.6rr
new oil pan and gasket
arp head bolts oil pan bolts and intake bolts
trickflow intake elbow
Trickflow intake
Intake man gasket
Slp 160* thermostat
I'd say today has been a good day boys!
On a separate note. What is standard thickness of our head gaskets. Im going to have heads milled cause they need to be and want to make sure i get correct thickness to keep compression.

Re: christmas in july......
Are the rockers you got the Magnum or the Ultra Pro Magnum? If they are the plain Magnums I would seriously consider upgrading to the Ultra Pro Magnums. The roller tips aren't that beneficial as much as the full roller trunion. Also they are arguably the strongest rockers (stud mount) you can buy so they will likely be the LAST set you ever buy.
The stock HG is .039" thick BUT most people upgrade them to .028" Impala gaskets. A slight bump in compression is worth a handful of HP but won't cause any problems. Just be sure to measure for proper pushrod length first.

Sorry didnt specify they are ultra pro full roller.
im not looking to bump compression but more or less stay within factory spec as much a possible incase shop has to mill heads. I won't know that till Monday.
i dont want to have to change length on pushrods if i dont need to.
