Checking compression with the rockers off..

I've done plenty of two stroke engine compression tests, but not an OHV engine.

My #8 cylinder bent a pushrod and now my rockers are removed and pushrods as well from that cylinder. I want to do a compression test before I tear it down for the heads/cam project.

Is it OK to run a compression check with the rockers off?

It isn't going to show you anything. To get a compression reading you need to have the valves work.

Even if the valves are stuck closed huh? Hrm, that sucks.. oh well!

I guess I could move my good pushrods and rockers over to that cylinder to check.
