Checking for a bad lifter...

Before I pulled the top end apart I had a tick tick ticking that sounded like a lifter. Any way to find out for sure while I have access to the lifter valley?

Pull them and inspect for obvious signs of damage. If its of any interest, I have a full set of lifters that I pulled off after about 80k miles and are in pristine shape - 25 shipped and they're yours.
