However, it still looks about just like it does in that picture. Just sitting there looking pretty waiting for me to get off my butt and do something

Guys

A few years ago the local Royal Purple rep was selling some additive he claimed would add 10 horsepower. He said so and so with a Viper gained 15 hp and that the stuff was almost the next coming of Christ.

I bought a bottle under the guise that if it didn’t show any gains on the dyno, he would refund my money.

Needless to say….. I dynoed the car, added the additive and no gains. The rep said I should drive the car for a couple of hours, change the oil and then dyno. So I did and………no gains.

At least I got my $50.00 back and the dyno owner let me do the test free as he was considering selling the stuff if it worked.

Anyway, before making a bunch of claims based on voodoo testing or conjecture. Do some form of objective test such as a dyno test or an oil analysis test before making a bunch of unsubstantiated claims.

Why……..? You may look very foolish if you don’t.

sorry i havn't been able to answer everyone's questions i try to get back and check this post when i have time. someone asked about what i had gained / noticed when i added it to my car (89stang) I could tell a difference in the way it would idle and rev. smoother wasn't as ruff. gas milage improved and so did engine temp. I havn't ran any in my Formula yet but will as soon as i get my hands on some. I agree with everyone change oil when needed and don't worry about it. I'm not big on the Hype about the HP that was said to of been gained from it just the added protection that it gives to the motor.

For another example when rebuilding my 74' F-7 175cc (rings sezzed up due to oil injector stopped working) we did simple rebuild just to get the bike running again. (pistion was .50 over and harder than hell to find) took the rings off stoned them down, and honed out the cyclinder..Before putting the piston back in i put some motorkote on my finger and just went around the whole inside of the jug put everything back together and drove it for a few more weeks till the piston skirt shattered. When i pulled everything apart the jug had no scratches or wear and tear on it....still trying to find a piston .50 over for a Kawasaki 175 enduro..

Some are very skeptical about the device used to test the oil in this case. When i bought my additive at the Farm Progress show he let me use the machine myself, hands on. i put in a new harden peice that grinds against the turning wheel so everything was fresh for my own peace of mind and used the penz full synth. oil that i had always used..yes like every other oil it did lock up but not as fast as others (5-7sec). After i sanded everything off the wheel and washed the harden peice off i put just a few drops of Motorkote on the hardend peice, not even enough to completely drench the peice and let the weights down and it keep right on spinning. he had abunch of weights at his booth and i added every single weight he had there and left it run for a good 3-4 min's it was smoking and squealing but still turning.

while it was running i took a water bottle and dropped some water on the spinning wheel and it hist and sizzled ... i knew there was some major heat coming off of it, but when i grabed the other end of the lever that the harden peice is held into it was cold to the touch.

all i have to say is you have to try it to be a believer...we put a man on the moon...why couldn't we make an oil that reduces friction like no other?

I'm gonna go for the Glory and have oil samples taken and tested at http://www.blackstone-labs.com . i have already submitted for a free kit and try to hand deliver my samples to there location, pretty nice there located in Ft. Wayne!, i'm going to follow all guide lines by the company and will report back to the LT1 board when i have my findings!

Sounds like someone is already testing Motorkote and people are awaiting results. I'm pretty sure it'll turn out like the rest of 'em.

Petroleum companies and automotive companies spend billions of dollars and hire the best and brightest engineers in the world.

It's a lot easier to fool a few people and make a few bucks than outdo the competition Sure you can tailor some oil more towards your own personal use but there aren't any miracles out there (ie, short duration, high intensity requirements for racing vs. long term stability and wide operating range for every day driving)

America is a great place to make a buck. People are more than willing to believe in miracles (weight loss, <insert body part> enlargement, miracle gas savers and power makers, etc. A fool and his money Just make sure you don't buy any of those miracle additives that do more harm than good!
