Check engine light
Check engine light
I'm wondering if anyone has run into this type of check engine light situation and if so what was the problem?
I know there are many things it could be, but I figured if I give more info you could pinpoint a number of problems it could be.
This morning I had my trans fluid flushed and the fuel filter changed, then a half hour later the check engine light comes on, but it doesn't stay on all the time, it goes on for 5-10 seconds then goes off for 5-10 seconds.
The car runs perfectly though, driveability wise and power wise.
I'd ignore it but it's driving me nuts hearing both fans going full speed.
I replaced the air pump fuse so it's not that (I've had that issue before)

I had the same problem a while ago, where the ses light went on and off with about 10 second intervals it was right after I had washed may car, I had a tear in the intake elbow, and I gave the engine a was like I always do.
It only did it for the rest of that night regardless if I shut it off or not, but it went away the next day and hasn't been back since.
If it still persists then get it scanned, it sometimes makes it alot easer to wix whatever is wrong

Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a few days and see if it persists, and if it does, then I'll get it scanned to see which code comes up.
It does have a tear in the intake elbow, but it's covered by the clamp that holds it to the throttle body, so there shouldn't be any air leaks.

I made the 25 mile drive to work this morning and the light didn't come on once! I hope that it solved itself. I was thinking that perhaps the new fuel filter caused the engine to possibly run slightly lean or slightly rich compared to what it did before, and it took some time for it to compensate?
Does that make sense?
