check engine light

ive been seeing this check engine light on and off now for about 6 months. when it comes on my car stumbles like its misfireing without the misfire. its usually when im below 2k rpm's. then it goes off and i get all my power back. well it started to stay on for long times. i brought it to the shop and they said it was the egr valve. so i got it replaced. well the problem is still thier. and the check engine light is still on. before i go to the shop and spend more money on stuff i don't need. does anyone have any ideas whats wrong with my car

Most AutoZones will have a problem with the 1995 LT1. They see that it has an OBD-II ALDL connector, and hook up their OBD-II scanner. Of course it won't "connect" with the 95's OBD-I computer, so they get all confused. You need to find a shop that A) is willing to scan an OBD-I computer, and B) has the proper connector for the 1995.

I had that exact same problem for a few months, replaced just about everything from plugs, wires, egr, fuel filter, pcv and it wouldnt go away? Well it ended up being the o2! So if I were you I would go with that one? I did all the smaller things first and thats where I ended up. But then thats just me?

Just think though, all of those items are maintenance items that would need replacing anyways. I just replaced all of those things just trying to fix that damn 2000 rpm stumble! I dont wish that problem on anyone, biggest pain in the $&* when you commute a long way to work everyday

But all is well now or for now I should say!

Good luck with the stumble, I feel your pain!
