check engine after cat back.

i recently installed a catback totl system from slp, and afterwards, the check engine light came on. has anyone had to reprogram their ecu for a catback? also, i installed a slp cai soon after. i thought these bolt-ons would be safe for the computer. any ideas?

i dont have a daignostics scanner, and dont have the 100 bucks to get a new one. anyone living near burlington nj with a scanner and wouldnt mind helping me?

Go to auto zone if they have one near you. Free checking.

Is your car OBDII (96+)? If so there's a small chance it could be and EGR flow malfunction (code P0400). This occasionally happens to us OBDII guys when a free flowing exhaust is installed, but normally only after headers or removing the cats. It happens because the EGR functions off exhaust backpressure, so when the backpressure is reduced significantly, the EGR doesn't work properly. This does not happen to everyone, so it may not be your problem, but just an idea. Have your car scanned...

That's the intake air sensor, it's located on the air intake elbow. It's probably just a coincidence you got the SES right after the catback install, I can't think of how it would effect your IAT sensor. I'd just check the sensor, make sure it's plugged in, and maybe replace it. I haven't had a problem with mine, so I don't definitely know what could be wrong with it.

yes it is
it tells your ecm what temp the incomeing air is and has some control over timing
it is what plugs into the intake bellows on the passenger side
