Same thing as a "Release Bearing." Is slides over the input shaft and pushes on the pressure plate (is pushed by the clutch fork). You might be talking about the pilot bearing, it's really small.

I went to Advance, then the dealer. Told them I needed the throwout bearing. That's what they told me. I couldn't believe it at first either. My pressure plate didn't come with one so I obviously need one. Let me do some more checking. Thanks guys

As far as I know I'm going to have to go with the $100 from Advance
The Hays Self Aligning one from Jegs for $40 doesn't work I heard. It doesn't come with the clips to go onto the P/P and the inside/outside diameters are wrong. How about the "Oversize" one? Help!

Well, I bought a T.O.B. from Advance, but I got them to price match Jason Chromers price.
I don't remember exactly how much I paid but it was still at least $75. The problem is, is that the LT1 P.P. uses a pull style T.O.B. and most everything else uses a push style. Face it, they are just expensive.
It did not come with the c-clip wire either. You may have to try and ask for one in the Parts Wanted section of the board, or at a local junkyard.
Good Luck!
