cheaper/best buy (cam)?

lt4 hotcam kit or a comp cam (recommend me one) and buy the various necessitys (rockers, valve springs, shims, retainers, lifters, etc.) seperate. im just sick of the stock sounding engine and want to be noticed a bit more so which route should i take. the hotcam seems more economical for me at around 500 for the kit, but what do you guys think. it will just be temporary (3 years max) i just cant afford to build the engine like i want right now so ill settle for a little lope . also how much would a decent port/polish of the heads set me back, nothing major just a stage 1 clean-up job?

The hotcam kit would be the cheapest. But you can get a better cam with all the stuff need for about $100-150 more. But the hotcam is a good cam. For the heads i would say anywhere from $600 to $900. Email Lloyd Elliot i here he does really good work.

Hotcam kit is by far the best deal. Costs a few more bucks to buy each individual component you need to go Comp Cams.
