What would be a good combo on parts for a decent short block for a Hotcamed stockheaded 355? Basically I need to spend the least amount as possible because my ta has been down for about 6 months. My daily driver tahoe just blew the motor and the someone vandalized it and broke out several windows. It will be much cheaper to fix the ta. I just need something to drive asap. I have a full time job about 20 miles away 4 days a week and it sucks haivng to bug parents and friends for rides. If someone could make me a list of some decent non forged pistons around 9-10.5:1, rings, bearings, oil pump, etc. The normal stuff used when rebuilding a motor and keeping the stock rods and crank, if I can? Also should I have the rotating assembly balaneced and what all machine work should be performed on the block for a basic 30 over rebuild? Or do I even have to bore it 30 over??
My motor spun I beleve a cam bearing and needs new pistons for sure. It overheated once or so to when my elec. wp went out.
