Changing O2 sensors
Changing O2 sensors
How in the world do you change the passenger side O2? There is no way to get to it. Anybody have any suggestions. I dont have headers, so this is with stock manifolds. Obviously the drivers side is a breeze.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I removed my starter and that freed up alot more room. Removing the y-pipe would of helped out alot too but I really didn't want to take it off and managed to change mine without removing it. Some tips for ya, get a o2 sensor socket autozone rents them for free that will help alot. If it is stuck in the manifold try heating it up as hot as you can then if that still doesn't work, heat it up and stick a birthday candle on it. The threads will suck in the wax and help break it loose. Good luck!
If they dont budge, Dan95TA is on the right track. I never have to deal with getting the O2's out of the manifolds ever again. Couldnt get them off with the manifold laying in my driveway with me wrenching while standing on the manifold. But a torch busted them loose quite easily. Dont know how anyone manages to do it with them on the car.
I got the passenger one from underneath with a sensor socket, a long extension and a swivel. I started the car and warmed up for about 2 minutes, sprayed a little PB blaster on it, and it came right out. Did not have to remove anything. It takes a litttle time, so be patient.
