Ceramic coatin necessary on California car?

Alright, fellas. I'm seconds away from ordering my Hooker long tubes here, and I'm wondering if I really need coated headers, because that damn near doubles the price. Is it a heat or climate concern?

Thanks in advance.

Ceramic coated headers will reduce underhood temps, last longer, and cool down alot faster than non ceramic coated headers. Instead of ordering Hookers, have you considered the pacesetter longtubes? You can probably get coated pacesetter lts for the same price as hooker non coated lts. Good luck.

i would say get the coating either way
the moisture in the air will probably damage them and rust them out

you should get them coated, but you should look at the Jet Hot long tubes. The Jet Hot coating is also better than the coating from Hooker.

Doubles the price? Jet hot coating added about $150 to the price of my shorties and that includes coating the y pipe.
But yes, its a good idea even on a California car.
