Ceramic Coated headers is it worth $$?

I've decided I'm probably gonna get some Pacesetter LT's. For an extra $100 or so I can get them ceramic coated. Is it worth the money? And, if it matters, I live in FL.

I definitely think so. I've had both types and the ceramic not only look a lot better but keep your engine bay cooler.

BTW, we're organizing a Pacesetter Group Purchase in the Group Purchase Forul so wait till that's all set up and you'll get yourself a good deal.

Ceramic coating headers is a must. I was cheap with my first set, hated they way they looked for over a year, then got them JetHot coated, was like installing a new set.

What kinda price/discount do you think we'll get? Right now I can get them uncoated for about $300 shipped.

like the stock manifolds

I want headers, but I am afraid of breaking off a header bolt as the car is 10+ years old then being stuck having to pay someone $300-500 to install them

They should be cheaper than that. 300 shipped is basically the standard ebay price. They're only 399 Coated from Redline Performance engineering. I'd wait and see what the GP can do for us, the guy has committed, we're just waiting on a price.

soak the bolts in a penetrating lube (i.e. valvoline) for a day or two and they will come out with no sweat.

I did mine yesterday.

Hope this helps your decision.

well, soaking will help, as was mentioned above, but that's just a chance you have to take.. I would say that most poeple that do headers dont have any problems breaking bolts, but there is always those few....

Thanks for all the advice. I'm pretty new to this stuff, aside from CAI, all I do on my car is change the oil. How hard is the install? What other parts do I need? (I'm gonna need gaskets and new header bolts right?) and should I change out anything while I'm there? I have about 70K miles.

Change the plugs!!!!!!! It will never be easier. No doubt the ceremic is a must as everyone else has said. I have jet-hot coated headers and love them. They cost me $523.00 shipped to my door. It only took about a week to get them and worth EVERY penny. I's sure you can figure this out but, make sure you pay close attention to where your plug wires are when you get through or you'll replace those in a day or two.
